WOYWW

Wednesday again!  So that means only one thing - it's time to blog the woeful state of my work desk!!  It's a bit of a family affair this week as my OH has taken over the end of the dining room table.  Here's his contribution......(that jar contains his 'biscuits'.  Personally I prefer digestives lol!)
Yes - he's been progressing the monster CD rack!  The clamps are holding American White Oak beading to the front edge while the glue goes off.  The sides have also been clad in the same oak...absolutely beautiful!  (Note to self:  shorten the voile at the window please!)
And here's my desk!  I'm still working on the Books of Ruination!  Also some altered books - I've got 4 on the go now - the products of 5 workshops with Jennie
The Earl Grey Tin and Saxa Salt paint brush holder are also waiting for a bit of alteration attention!  I'm thinking perhaps some gorgeous G45 paper for the salt tub.....

....and yes, I'm still using my trusty tray as a portable desk!  It just keeps everything a bit more in control and just happens to be the same size as the large heat resistant mat!!

See you next Wednesday with hopefully a finished Book of Ruination or 3!!

Thanks for looking and bye bye from me x

  7. Will the CD cabinet hold music CDs or CDs full of stamps? :-) How nice it will be to have something handmade that fits the space -- finding proper furniture can be a challenge. Have fun with your books of ruination! Happy WOYWW from Laura #100

  8. I have a cunning plan after reading all your comments!! I think OH needs to make me a custom storage cabinet!! (rather than just relocating the bookshelf in our bedroom!). I'm thinking a couple of deep shelves at the bottom for the storage boxes, 4 or 6 12" drawers in two columns for paper (make that 8 - tho it depends on how deep they are). That should take it up to waist height so then a work surface. Then at neck height (about 4ft in my world!) a shelf for DVD size cases for my rubber stamps plus another above. A cupboard running down the side, the whole height of the unit to take Bigz dies, storage for my BigShot (and any other die cutting machines I may purchase in the future! I'm quite happy to have it in pine - I don't need oak (tho that would be lovely! ***sigh***! Ahh, lovely and EXPENSIVE!!)

Thank you for all your lovely comments! I'm very proud of my OH!! I will probably continue to feature his endeavours until the cabinet is finished - I hope you don't mind! xxx
